45 minute consultation with Shiri to determine your legacy wok priorities and which (if any) services are right for you. We will discuss timeframe, supplies, referral for adaptive devices, other people you may wish to be involved, etc.
Legacy Projects
$350/hour + materials (if purchased by doula)
A legacy project is something you leave behind after your death that tells your story story as you want it told, something quintessentially you, something only you can create. For some people, it’s a letter. For others, it’s an interview done by your doula or a therapist. Some clients prefer creating a scrapbook or a recipe booklet. Some paint or weave. Still others create their own urn or sew their own shroud out of their favorite clothes. The possibilities really are endless.
Shiri is a writer, painter, former cosplayer, and crafter. She also plays the piano, cooks, bakes, and (as is evidenced) has learned to set up a website. She can do a little bit of glass art and enjoys organizing up collections of things. She would be honored and thrilled to help you with any legacy projects within those realms or any others within her capacity. If she doesn’t know how to do it, we’ll figure it out together, or call on one of her friends, who, she’s happy to say, all know how to do really cool stuff. Vigil and funeral planning can also be part of legacy work if you wish to participate.
A shopping trip to purchase supplies can be counted as a legacy work visit.
Animal Companion Services
Initial Consultation
$30
45 minute visit to determine your legacy work needs and wants for your animal companions. We can discuss advance directives including a bucket list, preserving your favorite memories, different writing and art projects that may assist you in processing grief, and whether or not you want to participate in vigil or memorial planning.
Legacy Work and Memorial Planning
$200/hour + cost of supplies (if purchased by doula)
While legacy and memorial projects are often done in the days leading up to, and immediately after, your beloved companion’s death and while they can be difficult, they can also assist with both coping and healing. They not only remind you of the good times you shared with your best fluffy, scaly, or feathered friend, but also help you find closure in gathering memories together and keeping them safe, capturing your companion’s essence for posterity, and allowing you the opportunity to serve them a final time. Whether you’re inclined toward writing, scrapbooking, painting, decorating an urn, or composing a song, we would be honored to help you clarify your needs and carry on with your work.
You can schedule a supply shopping trip as a visit if you feel having company will make it easier for you (it often does).
Planning a vigil, funeral, or memorial can also be part of legacy work and if you wish to participate in that planning, we would, again, be honored to support you through the process and make the event something as beautiful and loving as possible.
